The Black Pearl was an infamous pirate ship, originally a courier vessel named Stellar Envoy. With a hull painted as dark as a moonless night, this legendary starship of the hyperlanes was every inch a pirate vessel.

The Black Pearl has probably been modified more times than the number of years that it has been in service. Through the years it has modified to almost a military-grade vessel by one owner. Then it would be down-graded by the next owner and re-upgraded by the next. The Pearl has been upgraded so many times that it is practically not the same vessel that Hoersch-Kessel first created.
